A second goround
I was a member of LegalShield five years past but as old age advances I forget things. After inquiring by phone about this service it seemed a little too familiar.
Research came next and
coming across this website brought back some nasty memories of LS
attorneys and their malignant rudeness or outright refusal to perform as was promised at signing on. Once the fee is paid it is assured the funds will continue to flow from the card or bank account info you give them, regardless of what you demand of them to cease.
The attorney assigned to my cause said no representation was to be had in court. He was not from the state of my residence and not licensed there.
A major blunder by LS which they refused to correct. Left twisting in the wind with no recourse and no refund.
Other reviews listed here rate a paltry 1.8% stars out of 5 stars and consumers are mostly dissatisfied.
Thanks so much for all the bad news on this p poor outfit. The customer service person I called this time said NO ADVANCED references could be given to check on or to be called before paying a membership fee upfront. Where they find the attorneys or how may have something to do with repeated attempts to pass the bar exam after doing poorly in law school. You get what you pay for.
A genuine need to drum up some extra business may also be it!
At least I escaped another wasted fee for monkey bunk. They however DID NOT expect more money after my initial membership began the first time.
- Affordable monthiy rates
- Sometimes helpful with legal issues
- Respond quickly
- Poor customer service when there was a problem they created
- Are all cons
- Rude attorneys
User's recommendation: Minor legal complications or wills might be alright for using an LS brand attorney. For complicated matters such as real estate, landlord/tenant laws, etc my advice is to steer clear of LegalShield and seek help through a law firm or individual attorney locally or in your region of America.
I need a lawyer

Information
Mixed results- mostly a waste of money
We've had this "protection" for about 15 years. Today I found out, we've accrued a whopping 295 hours of trial time!
And 4.5 hours of pre-trial time (with lots of exclusions). How did I find that out, after all these years. I need representation. The lawyer I've been talking to on the phone said that I would get it, but they referred me out to another attorney who wanted $250 just to talk to me.
His office called me 1 hour before the trial was supposed to begin (I got the summons on Saturday). And he couldn't get to court in time to represent me (not even though the proceeding was by telephone). Yet the provider law firm "Davis Miles McGuire Gardner, PLLC" is supposed to be one of Arizona's largest and most experienced firms. I just noticed they increased the amount of their automatic withdrawals from my bank account.
Not sure when that happened.
They used to call back quickly. Not anymore.
The attorneys are all very pleasant. If you ask a legal question, like the one I asked: "Does a landlord have to notify a tenant when the ownership of the property changes?" They don't like to give a straightforward answer (like the law is here- citation- and it says such and such, which means this or that). Instead it's "Why does that matter?" "What reason do you need to know if the owner changes?" "Now you're getting into a lot of hypotheticals, like if he died you would need to know how to pay the rent.
Let's just stick to the issues" - Ummm, you- the one with the law license- asked me to give you some reasons. I just wanted to know what the law says.
I asked another attorney- if a shopping mall, or a private office building has a stop sign, does that have the force of law? I got friendly advice, but not a legal answer.
"If there's a sign, it's always a good idea to heed it." I already have hundreds of friends who like to give advice (don't we all?) but the reason I am asking you, a stranger who happens to be an attorney, is..... guess why?
Don't make the mistake of thinking you get actual "protection" from this "service".
- Sometimes helpful with legal issues
- And will leave you twisting in the wind
- Usually not helpful
Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered
User's recommendation: Don't waste your money- you can get the same advice from a friend or the Internet
Unauthorized Charge
Attached please find a copy of the email I sent to Legalshield on September 14, 2021.
In looking at our bank account, we found a debit on September 8, 2021 for $24.95. While contacting Legal Shield, we were told a person named Eugene Dolash subscribed for LegalShield Service and provided LegalShield our bank account information.
We do not know who this person, further it is unreasonable for LegalShield to allow a person to use banking information for an account that does not belong to them. Ofcourse, we want an immediate refund of the $24.95.
We should not have to hire an attorney to get the information on the person who tried to scam us, but are not above doing this.
Perhaps we can used part of the 300 hours we have accumulated legal with LegalShield.
We are also turning this information over to the local authorities as well as the Oklahoma Licensing Board. We would suggest someone within your Corporation contact the Legal Shield represenative who signed up Mr.
Dolash.
It is LegalShield's responsibility to confirm ownership of an account before accepting the information provided as true.
A response to this will be appreciated.
Thank you,.

When I spoke to Legal Shield Customer Service there was not concern that someone had used our financial institution routing and our account number. Their main concern was that we needed to send an email requesting a refund.
- Integrity
- Getting defrauded
Preferred solution: WHAT POLICY IS IN PLACE TO VERIFY THE NEW CUSTOMERS ARE ACTUALLY OWNERS OF THE ACCOUNT TO BE CHARGED THE FEE. WE ARE REQUESTING A FULL REFUND OF ALL MONIES PAID IN AND A DISASSOCIATION FROM LEGAL SHIELD.

Verified ReviewerThe lies that was told to me how they could help me with affordable attorneys who work for me.
The company does care about consumers. The lawyer told me to take the issue to the small claims court. That is not what my member support
They are just out to get your money and they have no concerns about a person legal problems. They told me to go to small claim court on my own.
